Please Note: In this industry individual tests are always more expensive than "group tests" because sampling and performing the tests individually incurs additional costs. However, you can usually find what you need, at significantly reduced rates below - and some individual fees are negotiable if additional testing is ordered.

Get your water tested anywhere you like. Send us your results by fax or email. We will review your water test laboratory results and let you know if the test results are valid and accurate, explain exactly what they mean and what you need to do, if anything, to treat, condition, or purify your water. We will tell you approximately what costs might be and tell you what kind of system (if any) you may need to purchase.  We will help you design the system so it works like it should - with the correct purification devices in the correct order so they are not damaged and work properly.

Do It Yourself Tests for Bacteria

Test for these microorganisms yourself at home. Order the sterile culture tube with medium here. When you receive it, unscrew the cap, add the water you want to test, fill to the line on culture tube, screw cap back on, set on on windowsill and observe for results over the next 14 days. Disposal: fill remainder of tube with bleach, dispose in trash. That's all there is to it. If you have these bacteria present, we can help you purify your water and be rid of them.

b.  tells you how to properly purify / treat the water

If your water does not need purification or treatment we will tell you!!! Because we work only for you and do NOT sell treatment or purification equipment or installation!! 5. Rapid Screen Plus the Basic Mineral and Anion Analysis: (Includes EPA Priority Pollutants) Total cost: $198.00.

Includes all of the above as "grouped" tests. Individual tests are generally about $20.00 each.

6.  Bacterial Testing: Tests for bacteria that foul and inactivate or damage filtration systems and purification devices and form biofilms inside well, distribution systems, plumbing, storage tanks, water heaters, hot tubs, Jacuzzis, etc. and slough off into your drinking water, produce off tastes, off-odors, or discoloration and increase the risk of becoming ill from drinking or bathing in water. Some "flesh eating" bacteria are thought to be transmitted by exposure to contaminated water. Methicillin-resistant Staph aureus and E. coli are examples of organisms that are suspected or have been proven to cause illness or death in exposed individuals.

a.  Slime Bacteria - clog filtration, pumps and distribution systems. Create an environment that allows growth of more dangerous microorganisms. Inactivate water purification systems, sometimes within hours. Produce off-tasting water.

b.  Iron Related Bacteria - clog filtration, pumps and distribution systems. Create an environment that allows growth of more dangerous microorganisms. Inactivate water purification systems, sometimes within hours. Form unsightly stains on plumbing and fixtures. Acidify the water.

c.  Sulfur Reducing Bacteria - clog filtration and distribution systems. Create an environment that allows growth of more dangerous microorganisms. Inactivate water purification systems, sometimes within hours. Form unsightly stains on plumbing and fixtures and produce foul smells. Acidify the water. Can make water toxic to pets and people. May cause skin rashes after exposure to water.

d.  Heterotrophic Aerobic Bacteria - turbidity, taste, odor, corrosion, health and hygiene risks

e.  Micro-Algae - can indicate the presence of pollution due to excessive nutrients entering the water. Some produce toxic, skin and mucous membrane irritating compounds etc. Clog pumping and filtration equipment.

f.  Fluorescent Pseudomonad's - can cause turbidity, slime formation, taste and odor (fishy or kerosene-like), corrosion, biodegradation, hygiene risks, skin infections, eye infections, urinary tract and genital infections, skin rashes, throat infections / sore throats; upper respiratory tract infections

g.  Nitrifying Bacteria - convert organic and ammonium compounds to nitrate. Nitrite (which is made from this nitrate) is a known carcinogen. Their presence may indicate contamination by sewage, septic tank, industrial waste undergoing aerobic degradation

h.  Denitrifying Bacteria - may indicate pollution with septic, sewage, industrial waste via anaerobic processes. If positive it should be followed by coliform testing (and fecal coliform testing).

i.   Pool, Spa, and Hot Tub Bacteria - cause skin disease, ear infections (swimmers ear), eye infections, folliculitis, and identifies Pseudomonas aeruginosa -. Also, it is known that E. coli, and it is now believed that some of the organisms that cause "necrotizing fasciitis" (flesh eating; Ex. MRSA) may be transmitted by exposure to contaminated water.  Tubs, pools, and spas are excellent reservoirs for Cryptosporidium or Giardia, especially if you share them with your pets.
