About Radon

In our area in Georgia predicted average indoor radon levels will be between 2 and 4 pCi/L and 1 in 15 homes has radon contamination. Have you had your home tested? For non smokers radon is the primary source of lung cancer, for smokers it is the second most common cause of lung cancer. When smoking and radon are combined, the likelihood of getting lung cancer is much higher than just twice as likely.

Lung cancer risk rises 16% per 2.7 pCi/L increase in radon exposure.

The Most Toxic Molds and Allergens

ZT = Zero Tolerance; CUS-MTX = Produce Mycotoxins; TXS = Produce Toxic Spores;

WDI = Water Damage Indicators

Molds with ZT next to them are called "Zero Tolerance" molds and will cause closing of public buildings and schools if found in significant numbers in those places - do you want these in your home?

Molds with MTX next to them produce mycotoxins - many of these toxins can cause irreversible brain damage or other nervous system disorders

Some of these molds cause disease directly by infecting the sinuses or lung tissue and others cause serious allergic reactions.

Two tests are usually done: one inside and one outside for comparison - to determine whether the molds are enriched (actually growing) indoors or just present in the air coming into the house from the outside environment

Agrocybe/Coprinus; Alternaria-mtx; Arthrinium sp; Ascospores; Aspergillus (ZT)/Penicillium (ZT) CUS-MTX; Penicillium pinophilum; Basidiospores; Bipolaris; Chaetomium  (ZT) MTX TXS WDI; Cladosporium (CIO mtx) cladosporioides; Coelomycete; Curvularia; Epicoccum CUS; Fusarium (ZT) CUS MTX WDI; Ganoderma; Myxomycete; Pithomyces; Rust; Scopulariopsis; Stachybotrys (ZT) TXS WDI; Torula; Ulocladium WDI; Unidentifiable Spores; Zygomycetes (ex Mucor, Rhizopus-Human disease); Articulophora; Botrytis; Cercospora; Dendryphiella; Exosporium; Nigrospora; Oidium; Pestalotia; Pyricularia; Spegazzinia; Sporotrichum sp; Stemphylium; Total Fungi; Fibrous Particulate; Hyphal Fragment; Insect Fragment; Pollen; Trichoderma (ZT); THE "Black Mold" Stachybotrys (Memnoniella  (ZT) WDI

This test includes 2 locations at 1 site, indoors and outdoors. Turnaround is usually about 4 week days and explanation/interpretation of the results is provided in terms you can understand.

Please note that there are several different kinds of "Black Mold"> Rhizopus is a black bread mold and relatively harmless, Aspergillus is more dangerous due to toxin production and Stachybotrys is the most dangerous, causing permanent nervous system damage
For $475.00 We will test for the full battery of molds AND we will also Test for Carbon Monoxide, Formaldehyde, and Volatile Organic Compounds, and dangerous respirable particles. This, then includes all the primary indoor air pollutants. See top of this page
The following tests determine which ALLERGENS are present in the air you breathe. If you are allergic to any of these you may want to test to see if they are present in your home or in your intended purchase.
If you find an allergen and want to remove it, we can help you understand the technology and purchase the correct system for your needs. There is no additional charge for this service.
Aspergillus fumigatus by ELISA (Zero Tolerance Fungus / Mold)  $180.00
Stachybotrys chartarum allergens (Toxic Black Mold - Zero Tolerance Mold) $360.00)  please note that this mold is included in the multiple mold testing.. To date this is the MOST DANGEROUS to find in your home. It will cause PERMANENT BRAIN DAMAGE.
Dust Characterization,
Level 2 Quantitative; Identified
Alternaria alternata by ELISA  (A Zero Tolerance Fungus/Mold-MTX)                                       $180.00

Endotoxins (bacterial fragments/bacteria) in air costs is                                              $220.00

Aspergillus versicolor  by ELISA (Zero Tolerance Fungus/Mold)                                      $180.00

The following tests are for toxic chemicals in the air you breathe. We have the ability to test for almost any toxic chemical, just let us know what you need and we will quote you a price.
If you have irritated eyes, nose, throat, sinuses, or allergic cough it might be due to poor indoor air quality. If you have recently remodeled your home, added new furniture or carpeting, consider getting a test for Formaldehyde.  Fee includes site visit and consult with Ph.D. microbiologist. Only $146.00.
Another option if you have irritated eyes, nose, throat, sinuses, lungs, or cough.  Multiple Parameter indoor Air Quality Testing: Carbon Monoxide; Formaldehyde, Total Volatile Organic Compounds, Particulates (PM1, PM2.5, PM10), Cigarette Smoke, Temperature, Relative Humidity, Moisture in Building Materials/Walls, Inspection for mold or water intrusion, Analysis and interpretation of results to client on site. 3 Locations in house.      ONLY $175.00

Odor Identity

Our first approach to identifying a "mystery odor" is to test for common problems, such as Total Volatile Organic Compounds (also known as TVOC's) and Formaldehyde. If these groups of chemicals are not a problem, then we move on to the next level of odor testing found below under "mystery odor".
If we are already on site to do other testing, the fee for TVOC's and Formaldehyde tests will be $75.00. If we must come to the site and will only be testing for TVOC's and Formaldehyde, the total will be $125.00.
$75.00 already on site, plus discount for additional testing on site.
$125.00 TVOC and Formaldehyde Tests plus travel to site plus
Mystery Odor
Do you have an odor in your home which you cannot identify but you think may be dangerous. We can help you find out what it is by "capturing" the odor and analyzing it. Because of the very sophisticated and sensitive instruments used, this process is expensive. But for the peace of mind, it may well be worth it to you. We are currently seeking less expensive methods with equal accuracy.
